Welcome to River Flows Down! My name is Jordan. And this is the blog I decided I would not have.
But I found that writing has a way of coming out of my fingertips. This is a place where I ponder ideas, delight in Christ, and share pieces of my life. (Please comment so I can hear your ideas, too!)
Why do I write? Because I have something worth writing about! If I do not post for a stretch of time, it is precisely because I do not want to waste words on unworthy subjects or half-formed ideas. If my posts are not bursting from a source deeper than my own creativity, they should not be taking up your time.
I'm dead. (But not in a weird way.) It's actually very good; I am dead with Christ, which means that my sinful, rebellious self is crucified and buried!
I am alive, too. I have been raised to new life in Christ - not mine, but His! It has been one amazing journey to see what His life in me looks like and where it takes me. And this is just the beginning!
I am the oldest (and shortest) of two girls and the daughter of two amazing parents. I graduated valedictorian from Hawkins Christian Academy (okay, maybe that was because I was home-schooled and the only student in my grade.) After a couple semesters at a missionary training school in Colorado, I'm back in beautiful southwest Virginia with my family, watching God piece together the next steps I should take with a dexterity only He can display!
My interests are diverse, including good books (especially well-written Christian biographies), nature in general and ornithology in particular, good sermons, linguistics, writing, speaking, missions both abroad and locally, deep conversations, questions, music, Bel Canto singing (an Italian method used in opera), performing vocally, discipleship, English grammar, name meanings, studying Scripture word for word, and learning (especially useful) new things.
Things I Absolutely Love (in somewhat random order):
